Power Station Saves Many Days' Production Thanks to Ocean Team's Emergency Service

Ocean Team turned out with only a few hours' notice when a power station was forced to shut down due to lube oil system failure in a steam turbine.

One Thursday night, we received a telephone call from a power station in Copenhagen. Something was wrong with the steam turbine, and the system had been shut down. Three hours later, our technicians arrived at the power station and diagnosed the fault: a bearing in the steam turbine's lube oil system was damaged, contaminating the system with various impurities. Risk assessment was quick and easy. There was no doubt: the entire oil system had to be cleaned using Ocean Team’s “High Velocity Pulsed Oil Flushing Method” in order to bring the plant back into operation as soon as possible.

We went home, packed our equipment and returned to the power station the next morning at 09.00. We worked 24 hours a day to reduce production losses as much as possible. It was an unexpected, yet pleasant, surprise for the customer when the steam turbine was back in operation after just a few days, allowing the power station to again supply heat and electricity for the citizens of Copenhagen.
