A production platform in the North Sea had for some time experienced increased temperature and loss of pressure in the seawater cooling system. This indicated that the system was infested with shells, algae and mussel larvae, all of which thrive in the oxygenated, heated environment.
For this particular job, Ocean Team developed a special procedure which solved the problem quickly and efficiently. The chemical cleaning system we designed is modular, allowing it to be quickly packed and forwarded to the infected cooling system irrespective of location or size. On completing chemical cleaning, temperature was stabilised and pressure drop considerably reduced. Optimum cooling of the oil and gas winning process on the North Sea production platform had been re-established. Our cleaning method saves time as costly dismantling and reassembly work is not required a factor which is directly reflected in the bottom line of your company's accounts.
